One of the responsibilities of County Commissioners is to oversee the management of county property. The current BOCC has twice voted to give away valuable county property to private corporations. Fortunately, both times the decisions were overturned, although one is currently under judicial review. County property belongs to the people, and the Commissioners are the guardians of that property. While there may be cases where selling a piece of county-owned property might be warranted, it should never just be given away, and especially not to a privately owned corporation. As Commissioner I will be a responsible steward of the county’s lands. County land is YOUR land.
